Penguatan Nilai-Nilai Pendidikan Karakter Dalam Pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di Sekolah Menengah Pertama Muhammadiyah 2 Banjarmasin

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of strengthening character education values in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning at Muhammadiyah 2 Junior High School Banjarmasin as an effort to develop students with religious values, discipline, honesty, responsibility, and good manners. The study aimed to examine the implementation of character education strengthening in Islamic Religious Education learning and to identify the factors influencing its implementation. This research employed a qualitative approach using field research. The research subjects consisted of one Islamic Religious Education teacher and all seventh-grade students of Muhammadiyah 2 Junior High School Banjarmasin. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings revealed that character education strengthening was implemented through lesson planning, classroom learning activities, teacher role modeling, habituation of religious activities, and evaluation of students' attitudes and behavior. The character values developed included religiosity, discipline, responsibility, cooperation, politeness, and honesty. Supporting factors included the teacher's role, a religious school environment, and consistent habituation programs, while inhibiting factors included the influence of the external environment, uncontrolled use of digital media, and the limited awareness of some students in applying character values in their daily lives.
