Integration of Information Technology in Islamic Education Learning: Opportunities and Challenges in the Digital Era

The integration of information technology in Islamic Education learning has become an important effort to improve the quality of the teaching and learning process in the digital era. The rapid development of technology provides opportunities for educators to utilize various digital media as more effective, interactive, and engaging learning tools for students. This study aims to analyze the opportunities and challenges in the implementation of information technology in Islamic Education learning. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method through literature study and analysis of various sources relevant to the research topic, the results of the study indicate that the use of information technology provides various opportunities, such as increasing access to learning resources, enriching learning methods, and enhancing students’ motivation and participation. However, several challenges are also encountered, including limited technological facilities and infrastructure, the low level of digital competence among some educators, and the potential misuse of technology by students. Therefore, appropriate strategies are needed to integrate information technology into Islamic Education learning, such as improving teachers’ digital competencies, strengthening digital literacy, and utilizing technology while maintaining Islamic values. With proper integration, information technology can become an effective tool to support the development of Islamic Education in the digital era
