Abstract

Teachers play an important role in improving student learning outcomes, with the role of a good teacher it will produce a good learning process and the presence of a good learning process will increase student learning achievement. This research aims to describe the role of teachers in improving student learning achievement. The method used is the library research method. The data collection method used is the documentation method. The data analysis technique used is content analysis. The results of this study show that the role of the teacher in improving learning achievement is the teacher as a guide by understanding the material to be delivered, the teacher as a manager by having a learning strategy, the teacher as a motivator by providing motivation before carrying out learning, the teacher as an elevator by conducting learning evaluations and teachers as advisors by becoming a communication bridge with students' parents. There are two factors that can influence student learning achievement, namely supporting factors and inhibiting factors. Supporting factors that can increase learning achievement are quality teachers, a conducive learning environment, support from students' parents and adequate facilities. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors that can influence learning achievement are the environment outside the school and students' lack of interest in the learning process.
