Upaya Guru Akidah Akhlak Dalam Membina Akhlak Siswa di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Miftahul Hidayah Kabupaten Barito Kuala

Abstract

A teacher at school has the responsibility not only to teach but also to educate and guide students to become better individuals. This responsibility also applies to Aqidah Akhlak (Islamic Creed and Morality) teachers, who are expected not only to deliver subject matter but also to guide and encourage students to consistently demonstrate good behavior and noble character. This study aims to identify the efforts of the Aqidah Akhlak teacher in fostering students' moral character at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Miftahul Hidayah. This study employed a descriptive qualitative field research approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The primary data sources consisted of teachers and students, while the secondary data sources included school documents, photographs, and learning materials. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which consists of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings reveal that the Aqidah Akhlak teacher at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Miftahul Hidayah, Barito Kuala Regency, plays a significant role in fostering students' moral character. The teacher's efforts encompass three main aspects: (1) providing an understanding of proper manners through advice, guidance, and exemplary conduct, enabling students to develop polite behavior; (2) cultivating students' moral character by instilling the values of discipline, responsibility, and religiosity. Discipline is reflected through the teacher's exemplary behavior, responsibility is developed through habituation in completing tasks and obeying school rules, while religiosity is fostered by strengthening students' Islamic creed (aqidah), worship practices (ibadah), and Islamic attitudes; and (3) providing continuous motivation to encourage students to maintain enthusiasm for learning, develop self-confidence, and demonstrate positive attitudes in their daily lives.
