Abstract

Islamic religious education teachers play an important role in shaping the character of school students. Because Islamic teachers are teachers who can educate the personality of their students according to Islamic sharia. The role of Islamic teachers is to shape the behaviour of students who were previously less able to become better and those who previously became better. Therefore, Islamic religious teachers in addition to providing religious knowledge also help shape the character of students in accordance with Islamic sharia and the culture of the Indonesian state. This research aims to find out the contribution of Islamic religious education teachers in the formation of student character. This research is a qualitative research which is library research (library research) which uses books and other literature as the main topic. Research results suggest that Islamic teachers are one of the pioneers in the success and formation of students' personality, because they play an important role as sponsors or imitators in the implementation of personality formation in schools. The contribution of Islamic religious education teachers in shaping the character of students is empowerment, emulate, intervention, integration, and learning
