This study aims to analyze the learning strategies of Aqidah Akhlaq in shaping students’ character at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al Azhar Barito Kuala and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting their implementation. This study employed a field research design with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews with the principal, Aqidah Akhlaq teacher, and students, and documentation, followed by qualitative data analysis and source triangulation. The findings indicate that character formation is supported by teacher role modeling, habituation, advice, motivation, lectures, group discussions, question-and-answer activities, and religious routines. The characters developed include discipline, politeness, responsibility, and religiosity. Supporting factors include teacher–school cooperation, a religious school environment, parental support, and routine religious activities, while inhibiting factors include students’ limited self-awareness, external social influences, and excessive social-media use. The novelty of this study lies in its contextual integration of instructional strategies, religious habituation, teacher modeling, and environmental factors within the specific setting of MTs Al Azhar Barito Kuala.
