Abstract

The role of the teacher is a series of behaviors carried out by the teacher in certain situations to achieve certain goals, namely changes in behavior and development of students. A teacher plays a very important role in improving student learning achievement, without the maximum role of the teacher, good student learning achievement will not be achieved. This research aims to examine the role of teachers in improving student learning achievement. Teachers have a strategic position in the learning process and developing students' potential. Through literature study and empirical analysis, this research identifies several key roles of teachers who contribute significantly to increasing student learning achievement. The research results show that teachers act as facilitators, motivators, evaluators and role models for students. Effective implementation of these roles has been proven to improve students' academic and non-academic achievements. There are two factors that can influence student learning achievement, namely supporting factors and inhibiting factors. Supporting factors that can increase learning achievement are quality teachers, a conducive learning environment, support from students' parents and adequate facilities. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors that can influence learning achievement are the environment outside the school and students' lack of interest in the learning process
