Abstract

Islamic education aims to form the whole Muslim, develop the full potential of human beings both physically and mentally, and establish a harmonious relationship with God, humans, and the universe. This research aims to improve project-based learning in Islamic religious education, focusing on strategies, benefits, challenges, and implementation in the educational environment. The results of this study are expected to provide insights to educators and policy makers to design a more effective Islamic religious education curriculum. The research method used is literature review research. Literature review research. Literature review research is a research method that involves analyzing, collecting, and synthesizing literature relevant to the research topic to be studied Project-based learning is a learning model that focuses on the main ideas and principles (central) of a field. This model involves students in problem-solving activities and other important tasks, providing opportunities for students to work independently and develop valuable work. According to Made Wena, the project-based learning model has several advantages and disadvantages. Based on the previous discussion, it can be concluded that the project-based learning method has a very significant contribution in Islamic religious education, this project-based learning method is able to improve the understanding of Islamic religious concepts by involving students in projects that explore and apply religious values in a real context. In addition, this strategy also encourages the development of students' social skills through teamwork
